The valley of the kings.

The richest treasure trove ever discovered was found in this valley – the famed tomb of King Tut.  It is one of the few royal Egyptian tombs found intact.  The tomb is located in the ‘Valley of Kings’ , an ancient burial ground for the pharaohs of Egypt in the New Kingdom period.  Rather than build a pyramid to mark the place of their burial, the pharaohs bored deep shafts into the rock and then used all kinds of ingenious methods to disguise their whereabouts, usually to no avail.  All of the tombs where robbed in antiquity, except for that of Tutankhamen.
